Sold Out Event held February 25, 2010
Kanata, Ontario: The Kanata Chamber of Commerce hosted a sold out event for the 11th annual ceremony of the People's Choice Business Awards.
A winter storm was not a factor in deterring guests from coming to support local businesses. With close to 300 guests in attendance for this year's awards, the Kanata Chamber event presented 24 awards in 8 categories last week at the Brookstreet Hotel.
Hosted by emcee Angie Poirier from /A\ Morning, business owners from Kanata, Goulbourn and West Carleton joined the Chamber finalists to recognize excellence in service and community support. A gala evening that opened with an Olympic theme as guests heard from the event sponsors including Investors Group Financial Services Inc. The awards ceremony is an opportunity to direct the spotlight on deserving local businesses and individuals who truly help make Kanata, Goulbourn and West Carleton a better place to live, work and play; and with over 7,000 votes coming from our community, this year's event was no exception. Award categories ranged from Community Support-Non Profit Organization of the Year to Business of the Year and Citizen of the Year.
Cynthia Adam-Wing, Committee Chair for the awards said "This event is an exciting one, where once again votes were cast by the local community acknowledging businesses, organizations and individuals of excellence within Kanata, Goulbourn and West Carleton."
